INVITATION

Dear Colleagues;

II. International Dokimeon Marble Sculpture Symposium titled “Art-Sculpture” will be organized by Afyon Kocatepe University Fine Arts Faculty for the second time on 16-18 June 2008 in Afyonkarahisar, aims to discuss the interdependence of these two issues from a wide perspective of different theoretical approaches. A critical scrutiny on the matter might help us to rethink art and remember the ability of our common studying praxis, apart from the academic and intellectual richness of the matter.

There will be a conference which takes 3 days with the academicians about art and sculpture. These academicians, who will participate in this symposium, have different experiences in national and international area. Also, there will be a practice of building a sculpture for a month. We believe that this unity leads to a qualified conference with the participation of artists, academicians, press associations and participants who are especially interested in arts.
We look forward to sharing the excitement of Afyonkarahisar and Iscehisar with you and extend our warmest greetings.
Yours Sincerely,

Prof. Dr. H. Rıza AŞIKOĞLU
The Dean of Fine-Arts Faculty
